The first-ever Media Academy debuted at the World Athletics Championships Tokyo 25 this September 2025, where 11
young professional photographers had the unique opportunity to cover the prestigious event firsthand alongside future
TV commentators and talented reporters.
In collaboration with Sony, the photography workshop connected participants with some of the world's leading athletics
photographers and global news agencies. Through this hands-on experience, they sharpened their visual storytelling
skills and captured the excitement of world-class competition on athletics’ biggest stages.
